Catch an opera at one of the many performing arts venues in town, possibly Vatroslav Lisinski's 19th-century Ljubav i zloba – "Love and Malice” – which is a big deal here; or museum-hop and get a peek at the “Linen Book of Zagreb,” the world’s oldest Etruscan inscription; or slip into a café in Centar for a locally-concocted cottage cheese strudel they call štrukli. There are amazing 19th-century buildings here, lots of pedestrian streets and squares lined with stylish boutiques and coffeeshops, and a hopping nightlife centered on the music bars and clubs on Tkalčićeva Street and Gradec where DJs spin garage rock and techno all night long. Yep.
