Montpellier France Travel Guide

[Last updated January 3, 2021]

There is such a thing as a Montpellier moment, and you can be in it. Just make your way to the main pedestrian square, Place de la Comédie, plunk yourself at a table at one of the outdoor cafés not far from the Three Graces statue, hopefully within earshot of a street musician strumming his guitar, with the sun beating down from a cloudless blue sky, and order yourself a chilled Cru Classé Rosé, maybe one from the Château Roubine roster. And voila! You're in the moment! Later on, you can join the throngs of tourists on rue de la Loge, bobbing in and out of ultra-hip designer boutiques and art galleries, interspersed and juxtaposed with medieval churches, aqueducts and statues, and elaborate fountains that keep splashing. Awesome, really!
