Walk down the tree-lined National Mall and you'll see Capitol Hill, the Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial, all in a row. You can stop by the Vietnam War Memorial Wall to run your fingers over the etched names of the fallen, pop into any of the Smithsonian museums for a slice of American history, or cross over the Potomac River to the north to chill at the Old Glory Bar in happening Georgetown. And who knows, while you're there, you might even spot a US senator or two.
