Salem Massachusetts Travel Guide

[Last updated January 7, 2021]

Witchcraft and witch tourism are big here. Modern-day witches at Wiccan shops on Wharf and Essex streets sell witch hats, broomsticks, potions, and books on witchcraft. You can roll through a witches' museum and dungeon where witches were once held, and see a 9-foot statue of Samantha, the witch from the 60s sitcom, Bewitched. Actually, you might even wonder if there’s something mischievous behind the smile of every little girl and boy in town, and whether they'll cast a spell on you or turn you into a mouse or frog or something! And yeah, if you come during Halloween, you'll get the full-on of all things witches – "Fie, fih, foh, fum, I smell the blood of an Englishman!"
