Cádiz Spain Travel Guide

[Last updated January 31, 2021]

You can walk along the remnants of a centuries-old city wall, look out over the ocean from between the crenellations of Castilla de Santa Catalina, an ancient fort, and visit a gold-domed cathedral with a fabulously frescoed interior. There are sun-drenched beaches to splash on – La Caleta being the principal one, with others stringing out to the south of there – restaurants and bistros where you can tuck into the best seafood paella in the land, and, heads up for guys, as any Spaniard will tell you, the prettiest women in all of Spain whom you’ll be hard-pressed to take your eyes off! And if you come in February, you can even let your hair down at Cádiz Fiestas de Carnaval, one of wildest carnivals in the world, which fairly rocks this port city. So, yeah, why not, right?
