You’ll see love notes and love-centric graffiti on the exterior walls of Juliet’s House – yes, “that Juliet," the one from Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. You can stand on the tiny balcony where she once stood and, in the courtyard directly below, watch actors enact scenes from the play – in Italian! rather than olde English. And if you wander into the old town, say in the Piazza delle Erbe, you can splash at a café there and tuck into some lasagne al forno and tiramisù in a glass; later on, you can even take in a live performance of Verdi’s Aida in a grand setting at the massive Roman amphitheater. Or, hey, just pause on the medieval stone bridge, Ponte Pietra, for a selfie of a love-stricken you!
