It’s the “rugged coast” of Spain, where every twist and turn offers up stunning views of the Mediterranean waves crashing on the jagged, rough and tumble coastline. There are gems of small towns and villages up and down the coast. In Figueres, Salvador Dali’s hometown, you can see the surrealist painter’s installations and his “Atomic Leda” and “Soft Self-Portrait with Fried Bacon”; in Girona you can soak up Greek and Roman history in the old quarter; and in Lloret-de-Mar you can kick back at a seaside bar and sip a mojito and tuck into a plate of patatas bravas! Sweet.
