There’s so much color here – in the foods and spices, in the souk markets, in the architecture, in the Berber rugs and handicrafts – that you could practically drown in it. Just splash in the old medina and you’ll be in the thick of it all, rubbing shoulders with locals in traditional garb, ambling down passageways flanked by walls in hues of red, pink and gaudy yellow. And if you slip into one of the cafés there, you can even settle back with a glass of pomegranate juice and watch the Berber world in slow-mo!
