Koh Phangan Thailand Travel Guide
You could easily be sipping a milkshake or shroom-shake or both at the same time. Seriously. It’s the party hub of Thailand, an island packed with young party-goers. There are full-moon parties right on the beach, on Haad Rin Nok, the no-holds-barred, let-your-hair-down kind. There are cafés and restaurants spilling onto patios with great views over the ocean, dinghies on the water along the shore to catch the sun in, and busy little streets and alleys with souvenir shops, clubs and bars that are alive practically 24/7. There’s even a tattoo joint to get an unhurried, decorative tat, and a boxing ring to watch a muay thai (kickboxing) match-up. And there are scooters to move about the island, and taxi boats to ferry you between islands. But listen, to blend in, say the name the way the locals do: kaw-penn-yairn.
