It’s a strikingly blue town, and pot-smoking haven to boot. You can lose yourself in a maze of blue-washed buildings crowded around steep, narrow, cobbled lanes, many of them literally flights of steps. There are cafés tucked in there, where you can stop by for chicken tajine and khobz, or Moroccan bread, and teashops serving ambergris-spiced and mint tea, and, yeah, hashish for the asking. You can poke around in tiny artisan workshops and pick up leather goods and handwoven rugs at bargain prices. But the bottomline: It’s a realtime trip! and just a short hop from Tangier.
