Moab Utah Travel Guide
It’s a place almost of pilgrimage for mountain bikers. Seriously. There are bike trails all around: you can ride down a smooth rock face on the famous Slickrock Trail, single-track it in the Klondike Bluffs, or even get an adrenaline rush on the black-diamond Captain Ahab Trail. Or, slip into those hiking boots and head over to the adjacent, mostly red-rock Arches National Park to stand atop the Sand Dunes Arch or beneath the Double Arch for a one-off photo-op. Or, heck, just park that booty on a rocky ledge overlooking the tiered rock walls and vast expanse of the Canyonlands, reminiscent of the backdrops in the old Westerns featuring the likes of John Wayne and Kirk Douglas. In town, you can browse in the motley of shops and galleries and pick up an authentic Navajo rug with its tribal geometric patterns or a photographic print of a Moab landscape to take back home and hang on your wall.
