Yosemite National Park California

[Last updated March 28, 2021]

This one’s a jaw-dropper. If you enter the park through the Wawona Tunnel, you’ll get the full-on Tunnel View: the monolithic El Capitan, a rock climber’s dream, in the left of the frame; Yosemite Falls, the highest waterfall in the US, to the right; and the monumental Half Dome more or less in the center but farther back in the vista, sliced right down the middle. It’s the classic view of Yosemite. Proceed into the valley, which is crawling with tourists in the summer, and you’ll find food joints and Ansel Adam’s Photo Gallery where you can see the legendary photographer’s striking black-and-white composites, including that iconic shot of a full moon hanging over the Half Dome. Oh, and if you go up to Glacier Point and look down the sheer drop, some 1,500 feet straight to the bottom, you’ll see a miniature, pixelated Yosemite Valley floor – an absolute killer!
