Santiago Chile Travel Guide

[Last updated January 31, 2021]

It’s a pretty cool city with Latin roots and Euro vibe. Just head over to the happening barrio of Bellavista, rife with bars or jazz clubs where you can order a “terremoto” and fairly feel the earth tremble beneath your feet, or pop into one of the ice cream parlors in the Lastarria pocket where you’ll discover more flavors than you ever imagined in your life. Later on, you can visit diplomat-poet-bohemian Pablo Neruda's home for a window on his life, or stroll through the colonial Moneda Palace where Allende, Pinochet and other Chilean presidents once lived, or even explore a district brimming with museums to binge on pre-Colombian art. At the end of the day, hey, climb to the top of San Cristóbal Hill for a fab, 360-degree view of the city. And you know, if you show up here in, say, mid-March, you can groove to live music pretty much around the clock at the annual Lollapalooza! And how cool is that?
