Yellowstone National Park Wyoming

[Last updated January 2, 2021]

This place is so vast that you could drive for miles without seeing a soul. We're talking 3,500 square miles – or 2.2 million acres! And that's something, right? You'll go over high plateaus, past deep canyons, meadows, sandy basins, hot springs, geysers, thermal pools, rivers, even thundering waterfalls. You’ll see elk grazing on hillsides, looking up to see you looking at them; and bison, usually in a herd, waddling down the middle of the road like they own it! There are foxes, wolves and coyotes lurking in the forests, and often enough you can see them. You might even see bighorn sheep, and the occasional bear. And you can join scores of other tourists to watch Old Faithful gush like no other gusher you've ever seen. But hey, this is Yellowstone, the granddaddy of them all – just get out there and do it!
