Stowe Vermont Travel Guide
Here, you’ll see fall colors like you’ve never seen before. Just head out of town a bit to Smugglers’ Notch State Park, say in mid-October, and you’ll see thickets of rust, gold, vintage green, and even the occasional bursts of rhubarb pink and lilac. And in winter, you can go up to Stowe Mountain to shred that East Coast powder and watch snowboarders in halfpipes. In town, you’ll see century-old homes with white picket fences, plus the white spire of a church peeking above the trees, and, on Main Street, quaint shops stocked with gifts and souvenirs and the 125-year-old Shaw’s General Store where you can pick up old-fashioned candy, maple syrup, stuffed toys, footwear, plaid shirts, pretty much all-in-one. And yeah, if you pop over to the Stowe Hollow Nursery, you can get blueberries the size of a half-dollar! No shit.
