Bariloche Argentina Travel Guide

Go there in the Argentine winter, between July and September, and look around. You’ll think you’re at a resort in the Swiss Alps. There are Swiss-style chalets with Tyrolean trimmings, prim-and-proper greystone churches with stained-glass windows, and Swiss restaurants where fondue is on the menu. You’ll find chocolatiers selling white-chocolate truffles, and small, quaint shops selling clocks, steins and ceramic gnomes. Yep. And there are skiers and snowboarders riding chairlifts up the mountain, then tearing down the run in explosive little flurries of white powder! And in the summertime, hey, it’s even more (Swiss) alpine. And you know it, right?
