It’s the coolest place for miles around. When you get there, you'll see. The main hangout is Bocas Town on Isla Colón, and it's crawling with backpackers, surfers and straight out party-goers. There are shops to poke around in, hostels to crash at, and lots of smoothie bars, souvenir sellers, eateries and watering holes, and a lively nightlife to boot. You can pop over to the main surfing joint at Paki Point at Tiger Tail Beach, or catch a water taxi to nearby Bastimentos Island and splash on the sandy sweeps of Boca del Drago or Starfish Beach, and maybe even walk down a long, snaking pier to the shacks at Punta Caracol. It's all pretty chill, and you can get around with just English!
