It’s a cute little town, set upon the River Avon, with a stone bridge or two across the river and slow-moving excursion boats navigating between swans. There’s playwright William Shakespeare’s birth home here, now a museum, where you can see the bard’s digs inside and out. But go to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre or Swan Theatre on the banks of the Avon and maybe you can even catch a performance of one his plays. In the summertime you can take cruise down the Avon, or watch multi-crew rowboats cut through the water. Or, you can just head over to the historic town centre to poke around in the quaint shops tucked into timber-frame Tudor buildings, and pop into a pub and shout one for the lads! Cheers!
