Front and center, you’re in the thick of a realtime cloud forest here. It’s a full-on jungle dripping with moisture, with a moss-covered floor and broad-leafed ferns, birds of paradise, and other lush, tropical flora. If you look for them, you’ll find exotic butterflies and rainbow-colored parrots and indigenous birds, and frogs in all the brights – red, green, blue, yellow. You can zipline from treetop to treetop, walk across a swinging footbridge that all but disappears into the wispy low clouds, take five at the cafeteria at the reserve entrance for a fruit compote or freshly-made burrito, and, at the nearby village of Santa Elena, even sample goat cheeses. Unreal, totally.
