There are leafy, brick-paved streets and black-shuttered brownstones on Beacon Hill, clam chowder and Samuel Adams ales at the local pubs, oysters garnished with lime at the Union Oyster House, ritzy boutiques on Newbury Street, and American academia, Harvard and M.I.T., just over the Charles River in Cambridge. There's a lot of red-brick architecture all around, vestiges of the American Revolutionary era on the Freedom Trail, the real 'Cheers' pub to raise a cheer, and you can even see Jackie Kennedy's iconic pink tunic and hat on display at the JFK Library.
